Vinyl Decal Care & Maintenance Guide
Keep your decals looking sharp for years with these simple care tips.
General Care
Our premium outdoor-grade vinyl is designed to last 5–7 years with minimal maintenance. A little care goes a long way in keeping your decals vibrant and adhered.
Cleaning
Hand Washing
Use mild soap and water with a soft cloth or sponge. Wipe gently in the direction of the decal — don't scrub across edges. Rinse with clean water and pat dry.
Car Washes
Touchless car washes are perfectly safe. Brush-style washes are generally fine but can be rough on edges over time. Avoid high-pressure washing directly on decal edges — the water jet can lift corners.
What to Avoid
Don't use abrasive cleaners, acetone, or gasoline-based solvents on or near your decals. These can damage the vinyl, fade colors, and weaken the adhesive.
Seasonal Care in Idaho
Winter
Road salt and deicing chemicals can be harsh. Rinse your vehicle (and decals) regularly during winter months. If ice forms over a decal, don't scrape it — let it melt or use warm water.
Summer
Prolonged direct sun exposure accelerates fading over years. Parking in shade when possible helps extend color life. Our UV-resistant vinyl handles Idaho summers well, but no vinyl lasts forever in direct sun.
Spring/Fall
Pollen, tree sap, and bird droppings should be cleaned off promptly — these can stain vinyl if left for extended periods. A quick wipe with soapy water does the trick.
Decal Removal
When it's time for a new look, removing vinyl is straightforward. Warm the decal with a hair dryer or heat gun on low setting — this softens the adhesive and makes peeling much easier. Start at a corner and pull slowly at a shallow angle. Any residual adhesive can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone.
Our vinyl is designed to come off cleanly without damaging paint, clear coat, or glass when removed properly.
